Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ottawa

Web Letter from the Minister

Dear Web Surfer:

Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ottawa. If you have landed on our site, I think you may be a spiritual explorer. Please take some time to look around and find out more about us.

You will see from our seven principles that we are a congregation covenanted to support individual growth, the search for truth and meaning, and our connection with the interdependent web of life. We believe it is not necessary to think alike to love alike. In our church, everyone matters, everyone has a say, and everyone is loved. We know it is our job to take care of the earth, our only home.

If you have children, please check out our RE programs and philosophy. If you noticed the rainbow banner at the top of our home page you will know that this congregation welcomes gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people. Whatever your heritage, whatever your faith, whomever you love, we welcome you. We honour your journey.

We are a congregation that has chosen to build intergenerational community. We like to play, work, grow, and sing together. Our goal is to make this a safe place for people to heal and grow, and to do our share to do the same for the wider community. If you are seeking a life-affirming community, come and try us out. Think of attending an adult program or a social event. Try our Sunday morning worship where we celebrate our lives and explore for all that has value.

If you’d like to get a better sense of who we are theologically, I suggest you take a look at one or more of my sermons. We make an effort to use inclusive language so that people of many faith orientations can enjoy our services.

Or if you need to talk, give me a call at 613-231-4405 ext 1 and leave me a message. I’ll get back to you. Come and meet us. We’d like to get to know you.

Blessings,

Rev. Frances Leigh Deverell
